Antonio's Proposal Breakfast

Lettuce Says,

Right after the Q&A portion ( The Will you marry me and Yes kind of thing :) ),  we were on our way to eat breakfast. I knew that Sunrise will be shocked once I say Antonio's. You see, he's the cheapsake of the two of us. But when he hears a voucher, you'll hear a half sigh of relief. LOL To further calm him down, I reminded him that we were there for breakfast, not the famous sought-after, pockets-emptying, fine-dining dinner.

As commuters, we are always on an adventure in getting to places we want. From Pink Sisters, we rode... An ordinary-wind-blowing-your-hair bus ride! While I was busy admiring my ring, Sunrise thought I knew where exactly the place is. What I only knew that time is to trust the bus driver that he know where Antonio's is. :)

The street going to Antonio's is just along the highway, on the right side if your coming from Bag of Beans or Mendez Market. You will see a signage Antonio's and Antonio's Breakfast. We first thought it was just within walking distance. Good thing, a tricycle driver overheard us and told us Antonio's is too far for walking. :)

They have a big gate that welcomed cars after cars. It was very funny because we were the only ones who entered without a vehicle. Hehehe We didn't forget to get the mobile number of the driver, for fear of being stranded in the middle of the these endless farms. :)

There's a sense of arrival as these big doors open to greet you. This leads to the fine-dining areas.

Senyorito Sunrise :)

The Querida chose to slip through the RED door on the right.
We also took some photos of the dining area for those fine dining lunch and dinner. I'm loving those high ceilings, chandeliers and open areas, just like a modern ancestral mansion

Perfect for Groups

Kois!
Our stomach were calling to us. We had to walk some more to get to the extension dining hall at the back.

I scored a deal from Groupon for an PhP800 worth of food and drinks good for 2 for only PhP400. Pretty great deal to sample their fare if it's worth coming back after. Great timing also for the Q&A that happened earlier.
Lettuce's Tip: If you want to eat here for dinner, you need to have reservations. For breakfast though, you have to walk-in. :)
They also have chandeliers and chairs with wire mesh design. Some opt to eat at the outside veranda.

On with the food!
Breakfast Basics(PhP305) - 2 eggs done anyway you want served with panini and choice of spanish sardines, bacon or sausage
Sauteed Corned Beef and Eggs with Hashbrown (PhP400)

This was the little star of our morning (of course my ring was the star.) Actually, there was nothing that exceptional with our main breakfasts. But of course the freshness of the ingredients used were noticeable but not that to-live-for impact. Except for this HOT CHOCOLATE!!! This made our romantic proposal breakfast sweeter. It actually tasted like melted swiss/belgian milk chocolate. Although I can't imagine how small is the petite serving.

Iced Tea Slush

I do not recommend you order this. It was the exact opposite of the hot chocolate. Looks good on the photo but tasted like the local instant iced tea sachet brand. Hence, the smaller photo. Hehehe

Sunrise Says : I'm a pancake lover, I love pancakes, pancake love. How much more can I say? How much do I love pancakes? If there's one food I can remember on a breakfast table it is definitely a pancake. Antonio's pancakes - I would never forget it. Super! Pancakes please!

The pancakes were yummy served with a generous carafe of maple syrup. This was one of the items in the menu that was priced justly, given the thick and perfectly made pancakes and generous drizzle of chocolate chips inside and out.

Our breakfast at Antonio's breakfast was very laid-back and relaxing with just the right amount of romance, surrounded by lush greenery and cold weather.

We always hear tourists asking for directions going here, so for everyone's reference, here's a map from Antonio's Restaurant's Website.

A few years ago, I only asked for someone whom I can talk to and share my meals with. God now filled my empty plate.

I truly love Sunrise with Breakfast. :)

Solace in Mary Grace

April 2012

Lettuce Says,

Work and wedding preps made us excited and stressed at the same time. Good thing, Sunrise and I, found some solace fix in Greenbelt 2.

Meet my lovingly kaagaw sa iced tea, este, my fiance, Sunrise :)
Iced tea pa lang solved na lolo nyo.

Peach Ice Tea, Pitcher (PhP224)
We really love the iced tea no matter that a pitcher cost us an entree.

Grilled Ensaymada (PhP 73)
Expensive, yes, but amazingly good! Bread is super soft and  you can taste the high quality of ingredients used.

Sunrise and Squash

Summer Squash Soup (PhP124)
If I'm sick, I'll get better by just looking and smelling this soup.

Pasta Americana with Italian Meatballs (PhP210)

Serving is really good for one with a small appetite. But Sunrise felt full because of the relaxing atmosphere and the good quality of the food served. I love its garlic bread with real garlic bits. The meatball is really meaty but could use some salt. Sunrise asked for extra parmeasan cheese to make it more salty.

Table Trinkets

This restaurant will remind you of your grannies' house. I can relate to this but a more sosyal version of my lolo and lola's former wooden house in Pinagbakahan, which is sadly, now physically demolished, but will forever stay in my memory. And instead of spaghetti and iced tea, arrozcaldo and Sarsi will greet you then. Once you enter, no matter how adult you are already, all your pain and troubles simply melt away, and you're instantly enveloped with the comforter-like love of your lola. Aww, I'm sure a lot of you can remember your grannies crib that evoke the same melancholic feeling.

Their servings are small and good for only one person. As always, Sunrise and I shared everything. Food prices are quite expensive here. A light meal can cost you around PhP500 per person. We normally don't order drinks since they are always the overpriced items on the menu. Unless, well, because I just can't resist the iced tea! Their drinking water tastes good too with all that lemon and orange slices.

Taking in the homey ambiance, good service, and quality food, it's definitely worth it, not everyday but at least once in a while. As often as you visit your grannies' farm.

Sunrise Says,

If you haven't tried Mary Grace yet, you are missing a lot. A homey experience because of the food they serve plus excellent service. And if you are budding entrepreneur like me, you should know how Mary Grace became to be. Their story is one exceptional entrepreneurial journey that can inspire many.
