Lettuce Says,
Last year, we didn't really plan to celebrate Valentines
day, since all our free time were devoted to booking suppliers and planning for
our wedding. Good thing, we had a simple and sumptuous dinner at Racks Festival Mall.
The weekend after Vday, we
braved our first bridal fair. We were both overwhelmed and decided to spend a quick staycation in the metro. We woke up late the day after with stomach grumbling with hunger. A sudden craving for seafood took over us. There's only one place to go to, seaside! In Metro Manila, seaside is not really beside the sea, but beside the bay. We were transported to SM Mall of Asia, San Miguel By the Bay. A big air-conditioned ferris wheel greeted us, the MOA Eye.
We have no idea at that time where to eat. No researched was made prior. What to do?
Lettuce's Tip: Look for the resto who has the most number of diners at that time. :)
Actually I have been reading lots of good feedback for Aling Tonya's. But we then saw very few people taking their lunch there. Sunrise and I followed the throng of people, and made our way to Trinity Ihaw-Ihaw.
Before going there, you have to buy fresh seafood picks at the mini market near the resto. We didn't have the chance to take some photos because of the grumbling stomachs. The prices were quite steep, as expected. You also have the option of just having the resto buy those for you. But the challenge of haggling will be lost. :) We spent PhP650 for the seafoods.

Suam Soup Halaan |
Shrimps Buttered with Chili Sauce (Mild) |
This was the main reason we commuted all the way to MOA from Makati. Heavenly!!! The sauce was meltingly great. Also, I noticed they were serving the same number of pieces we bought, not that I have counted, but on eye estimate, they don't get a piece or maybe even a shell from my halaan. I wonder how they make a profit with their cooking charge! Well, they indeed make a fortune with their rice and drinks prices. :)
Ginataang Alimango |
Fresh BJ (Buko Juice)! Had to request some ice and spoon to scrape off the white meat.
Our bill came to PhP550, with cooking charges for 3 viands, a platter of rice, and the BJ.
The servers were very attentive even though the place was fully packed for lunch.
We even saw the owner having some drinks with some friends.
When we reached a point in our lunch that we have slowed down on eating, we have observed that a lot of people dining there were big groups and families. Actually, we were the only table for two that time! :)
They also serve hard drinks and beers. We would definitely suggest this as a great HOHOL place.
