Caffeine Pit Stop at Java Jazz Coffee Tagaytay

Just Married Series

Lettuce Says,

The rainy cold weekend spent at home today, inspired Sunrise and I to create a Just Married series to cover our travels (via travelnstories.com) and foodie finds perfect for couples-to-be, certified couples, and igniting-the-old-embers couples. We considered the privacy, romantic ambiance, and budget affordability of course!

First pit stop, Java Jazz Coffee in Tagaytay. If you are already an avid reader of My Empty Plates, you probably know now that Tagaytay is our home-away-from-home neighboring city of comfort due to its closeness and accessibility from Binan.

After all the wedding frills and hoes and a few vacation leaves on hand, we decided to spent the first week of being certified hubby and wifey in Tagaytay. We stayed in BNBs and budget hotels to jumpstart our married life in being prudent. Gone are those days of carefree fun and spending we exhausted last year. We chose to be smart now and adapted to a new set of priorities. Naks! Matured thinking with beating young hearts.

Newlyweds just need a warm bed and room service. That part is soo true. J But our love for exploring and a craving for coffee and something sweet led us to walk a few steps from our BnB of the day to Java Jazz Coffee.

It was really a coincidence. I know that Java Jazz is located somewhere on this East side of Tagaytay but we didn’t know that it was just a stone throw’s away from where we are staying. I squealed in delight when I saw it. If you are coming from Tagaytay Rotonda, it is located on the left side of the road few blocks before Ina ng Laging Saklolo Parish Church, T-House and Keni Po. If you are a commuter like us, in Tagaytay Rotonda, just wait for a jeepney with Palace in the Sky signage or ride a tricycle which will cost you more.

They are known for their Kapeng Pinoy (native coffee), Tsokolate-Eh (thick hot chocolate), Sining sa Sahig (admiring art pieces while sitting on the floor), and relaxing jazz music which are primary interests of Hubby Sunrise. It was a normal weekday so the place is nearly empty except for two foreigner couples checking out from their BnB.

We ordered Tsokolate-Eh with Toasted Mamon (PhP99) which is great for dipping comparable to the biscotti of other countries. You can dunk here! They also have cold coffee frost and non-coffee drinks, sandwiches, pasta meals and assorted items for pasalubong.

The cool breeze was heavenly while sipping and dipping mamon on hot chocolate.

A lot of people may ask what is the difference between Tsokolate-Eh! And Tsokolate-Ah!? Tsokolate-Eh! is made from pure chocolate tablet carefully swirled into a bittersweet thick hot chocolate, whereas Tsokolate-Ah! is just Eh! with milk. :)

You guys should drop by here with you better halves or barkada friends on your way to Picnic Grove and People’s Palace in the Sky. Experience it yourselves. Java Jazz is a nice and an artsy alternative to Starbucks.
