When Beer Met Pizza - The Brewery x Zomato Gold

The Brewery At The Palace literally has its own brewery!

Subscribe to TaraLetz for more foodie videos!

The Craft Beers

Compadre Craft Pilsner Beer - the lightest of the beers has a more pronounced fruity note than alcohol.

Compadre Craft Wheat Beer - the second of the lightest is the ladies' favorite because it has a mild beer malted taste than the Pilsner and has a smooth drink finish.

Compadre Craft IPA Beer - this one is our favorite with its strong, bold and bitter taste of what a real beer truly is but you can taste its freshness compared to the almost chemical taste of commercial beer.

Compadre Craft Stout Beer - the darkest of them all reminds us of the dark taste of chocolate or coffee. It is a nice full-bodied drink for strong men and women.

The Food

You can't go wrong with food here at The Brewery because with Zomato Gold membership, we can enjoy Buy 1 and take 1 on food just ask the servers on what they recommend.

Their pizzas were made on the spot so freshness is guaranteed, and the dough has an interesting taste to it that complements the beers well.

What really stood out is the Pasta Penne, which was tossed in pesto cream with chicken and parmesan cheese. We would love to go back and just have this pasta and the Compadre Craft IPA.

Regarding the ambiance, the brewery has this dark alley feel but gives an edginess to your tipsy self. Service is topnotch and servers are knowledgeable.

Thank you so much The Brewery and Zomato Gold for an afternoon filled with new learnings and fun drinks and delish food!

Taste Test and Mukbang at Abbiocco Alternative Restaurant

Abbiocco is an italian word for the sleepy feeling after a big satisfying meal.

Subscribe to TaraLetz for more foodie videos!

The Food

House of Kalabasa Soup - the consistency of the soup was thick, creamy and savory with a unique toppings of Biscocho chunks. Serving size is good for one person.

Anton’s Salted Egg Fried Chicken Wings - a nice appetizer or can be paired with rice as well. The chicken itself was soft to bite, but could help with a bit more of the salted egg batter to make it more tasty.

Seafood Kare-Kare sa Gata - People who love gata will surely love this as well. The sauce is super thick and the pronounced taste of cooked coconut milk will welcome you. The seafood and other toppings tasted fresh.

Grilled Rack of Pork - I love this particular dish because I am a meat lover. The seasoning was surprisingly different, you have to order this to taste for yourself.

Paella Valenciana - This is our hands-down favorite dish from Abbiocco. Serving is really big for its price. This can easily feed 3-4 persons. The rice and sofrito combined with the fresh seafood tasted really good.

Regarding the ambiance, restaurant was spacious, design was stylish. Service was quick and servers are adept and friendly. We will surely be back with our family for a hearty meal.

Thank you so much Abbiocco Alternative Filipino Restaurant for the good food!
Cheers to Chase Yap and Carl Cordova for this gem of a lounge!

Glitzy Night at The Penthouse 8747

Lettuce Says,
Cheers!
The Penthouse

An invitation for a night of good food and great drinks from Zomato PH led us 22 floors above ground to The Penthouse 8747. The name came literally from the location which is penthouse and the address of the building, 8747.

There's The Penthouse! Yellow lights above the LEPANTO signage!
The Penthouse 8747 is located at the roof deck of the Lepanto Building along Paseo De Roxas Avenue, right across the Ayala Triangle Gardens.

Marbled walls adorned this short flight of stairs from the 21st floor
The Great Gatsby Vibe
The Glitzy Gatsby Grandeur
Upon entry, you will be greeted by warm hello's and golden trimmings that scream, welcome to the '30s of The Great Gatsby.  I love the glitzy glamour vibe that exudes elegance and style. They do not have a strict dress code, just the usual no shorts no slippers policy, but hey it's sometimes great to dress up once in a while, right? But for after work drinks, our office getup and mood will be mighty fine.

I particularly like their long plush couches. Imagine the fun and laughter you and your friends may share within its cozy confines.

Long Seats for the whole crew
And do not forget to breathe in the panoramic view of Makati just beyond your cocktails view.

Sparkling View of  Makati
Yay! Full Bar!
On to the FOOD

Ms. May Yao, The Penthouse's Marketing Officer, warmly welcomed us that night. Executive Chef Mischa Okina went out of her way, presented the array of bestsellers and patiently answered all the foodie questions we had.
The Food Spread
Golden Crab Cakes (PhP 470)
These golden crab cakes were made from fresh blue crab meat with sriracha remoulade sauce. The generous crab meat packed a full flavor that's a bit on the heavy side, a great appetizer for sharing.

Look at all those crab meat!
Mahi Kilawin
Mahi Kilawin, fresh raw Mahi Mahi fish in vinegar with shallots, bell pepper and cranberry coulis. This is one of their new appetizers which I know will be a big hit. I love how the sweet rawness of the fish was in contrast with the vinegar and tartness of the coulis.

Italian Sausage and Prosciutto Flatbread
Yummy Flatbread
Prosciutto, arugula and good quality bread will make me happy, so this flatbread had it all and more. It's light and tasty, a great finger food for conversations.

Pulled Pork Bun
Pulled pork bun, pulled pork with asian barbeque sauce with sour cream and salsa on mantao, served with fries. The pulled pork was so flavorful, stringy yet tender, yummy!
Great Mac and Cheese
This one was the least favorite of the group, it had a lot of cheese but still on the bland side for a mac and cheese dish.

Seared Tuna with Zesty Risoni
The tuna had a nice sear on it with furikake (japanese seasoning) and black sesame breading. This went well with the risotto style risoni (which is a type of pasta shaped like rice) with olives, tomatoes and spinach.

The Zesty Risoni
Steak and Sides (PhP 1150)
The steak was a 300g Margarette Rivers, served with creamed corn and fries as sides. I love the steak and its simple rub of salt and freshly cracked pepper, best eaten as soon as served, it may become a bit tough after getting cold.

300 g Steak
Cheesecake Ala Misch (PhP230)
Chef Mischa shared this blueberry cheesecake which was a recipe passed on within their family of great cooks and chefs.

On to the Drinks

Gas Up at Pablo's Pub and Restaurant

Lettuce Says,

The PUB

Another foodie meetup invite from Zomato PH brought us to BGC on a Thursday night (wishing hard it was a Friday!). Braving the horrendous rush hour traffic from Makati, John and I sung a lot of 90's hits during the hour drive going to Pablo's Pub and Restaurant. Pablo's is located on the 2nd floor of the Forum Building at 7th Avenue corner Federacion Drive, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, very near to The Fort Strip. When in doubt, use Google Maps or Waze.

Parking Tip! Upon seeing McDonalds, enter the drive thru entrance, go straight ahead and you will see an open pay parking.

Wooden blinds, a big menu card and the smiling girls of Zomato PH welcomed us. Upon entering, you will be greeted by these old fashioned chandeliers that lit up the otherwise dark paneled interiors of the pub. The place screams of masculine vibe much like the whiskies on display. What I love about the place are the dark table corners and their secret room with hints and smell of liquor, cigar and mystique. Mystique? nah maybe we watched too many episodes of Narcos, eh? Where we are now? At Pablo's? Was that a reference to Pablo Escobar? What?! Of course not, but it can be! Hmmm gotcha interested, go here at Pablo's and know for yourself, 'coz we ain't telling, we're eating! *wink

On to the FOOD

We met one of the owners, Javier who introduced us to sample appetizers that comprised of bestsellers of their previous menu lineup.
Spicy Chicken Tenders (PhP250)
The spicy chicken tenders' serving was quite big, great for those barkada nights. Filling but a tad bit salty.

Paprika Fries (PhP160)
Paprika fries, France met Spain with this thick cut French Fries dusted with Spanish paprika, a bit spicy that went well with a big burger or your drink of the night.

Chicharon Bulaklak (PhP230)
I can't help but sigh with longing whenever I remember what this chicharon bulaklak tasted like. It's not your typical greasy kind but battered with a special breading that will make you addicted to it. The lemon vinegar dip was the bomb, its freshness complemented the crunchy fat of the bulaklak. This was my hands down favorite of the night! And the price is so sulit!

Zomato Foodies!
One thing also that we look forward to are the Zomato foodies in every meetup. We sometimes see familiar faces, sometimes you end up being the newest face on the group. But nonetheless, being foodies of Zomato has brought us so much fun, tummy space and friends!

The To-Die-For Chicharon Bulaklak

Dunk it or Chase it with a badass brown liquor
Pablo's Cheeseburger (PhP190)
Pablo's bestseller since Day 1, according to Javier, was this quarter pound of beefy goodness, with abundance of fresh lettuce and tomatoes, topped with melted cheddar cheese in warm brioche buns. It was tasty, meaty and filling. I like the bread the most, it was like at first bite.

Whiskey Me Away?
Our Cover Girl, Louie of Zomato
Blow to know your BAC
Before you go, give this little machine a nice blow to get your alcohol content. Don't drink and drive guys, we do it responsibly.

Now we know, were to gas up in BGC without waking up drunk and broke. Their happy hour deals will truly make us happy. See you guys here at Pablo's after work, ayt?

Thank you so much Zomato Ph and Pablo's Pub and Restaurant for inviting us!
Nice meeting you Javier! We know now where to gas up in BGC.
